Stop finishing drills you can't apply. Hear scale degrees in any key.
You've done EarMaster. You got to the end. You still can't figure out the melody of a pop song by ear. That's not your fault — it's because every app teaches intervals in a vacuum, not in the key. Fifths teaches them in key, then shows you exactly what you keep missing.

degree?
Practice that matches what you actually do at a piano.
When you're figuring out a song, you're not naming intervals — you're asking "is this the 3? the 5? the flat 7?" We train that skill, directly.
How it works
Every drill lives in a key, with a drone.
Your ear learns "what scale-degree 3 sounds like," not "what a minor 3rd sounds like in a vacuum." That's why songs click, and vacuum-drills don't.
Every answer logs which degree, which direction, which key.
You build a map of exactly which patterns you miss — not "your accuracy was 78%."
Auto-generated sessions drill the gaps.
The patterns you miss in songs are the patterns we drill next. No more guessing what to practice.
Built to make songs clickable
Scale-degree-first training
The whole point. Every drill has a key. No floating intervals.
Drone context for every drill
Tonal center in your ear while you identify. The method that actually transfers to songs.

How Fifths compares
The apps below are good. But if you've done them and still can't hear songs, you know the problem isn't "you didn't finish enough drills."

Frequently asked
I've done EarMaster. Why didn't that work?
Because almost all interval drills play notes in a vacuum. Real songs have a key. Without that reference, intervals sound different every time you hear them. We put the key back in. That's the whole trick.
How long does it take to hear scale degrees?
Most people get reliable 1-3-5 (the tonic triad) in a week of 15-min/day practice. All 7 scale degrees in 4–6 weeks. The matrix shows you when you're getting close.
Do I need perfect pitch?
No. This is pure relative — scale degrees in a given key. Perfect pitch isn't required and isn't taught.
Is there a free tier?
Yes, forever. No ads, ever. Full baseline curriculum and 7-day analytics. Pro unlocks unlimited history, mic input, and auto-drill.
When does it launch?
